Welcome to Gehama-Art!

I am a self taught artist based in London with a passion for creating art that speaks to the soul. My work is inspired by nature, whilst using the strong identity of the human form. Folklore, Mythology and cultural influences have also ignited a spark within me. My designs host a spiritual essence; emulating energy and the complex beauty of human emotions such as strength, and passion.
I work with recyclable materials to create sustainable art, using them to bring my vision to life in a unique and meaningful way. Each piece is chosen for its colour, shape and symbolism and this process allows me to connect deeply with my art, creating pieces that resonate with others.

About me

What I Do?

Travelling has always provided me with great inspiration, and continues to do so. I admire the incredible works of Antoni Gaudi, his eclectic originality and organic style of architecture blew me away when I first saw some of his work. I discovered that Gaudi also took his inspiration from nature, describing it as a "great book, always open and which one must endeavour to read".

In my twenties, I travelled around Middle Eastern countries such as Israel, Egypt and Jordan, I visited many colourful, hustling and bustling markets. It was there, I explored the endless rows of jewellery, trinkets, textiles and leathers. I was fascinated with the handmade tribal jewellery and Bedouin silver adorned with vibrant colours and intricate designs. Symbolism featured heavily on many of the items and still plays a significant role in Middle Eastern culture and many countries around the world today. Cultural symbolism often carries significant meaning, derived from religious, spiritual and cultural beliefs.

Crafting sustainable art with a purpose

It is of great importance to me to create with recyclable materials, in my perspective this makes my artwork beautiful but also mindful, giving new life to found objects, unwanted or broken jewellery and other unexpected treasures. Each material is carefully chosen, not just for its aesthetic quality but for the story it brings to my work.

My Mosaic Mind

If you are looking for a striking statement piece or a smaller more subtle design, I offer bespoke commissions to compliment your space. I work closely with clients to craft artworks that reflect their tastes, creating one off pieces that have the ability to transform a room.

Creating art for your space

My art is deeply rooted in the mosaic technique. I hand select every item, which is thoughtfully yet intuitively placed into intricate designs. I use specific colours of which I am drawn to and relate to my vision. The application of the chosen pieces is a slow evolving process of layering and reflecting, allowing me to create art for myself and others that is both visually captivating and emotionally resonant.

My focus for Gehama-Art, is to create unique, sustainable pieces that resonate with others. My path is a journey of healing, mindfulness and craftsmanship, sometimes obsessively hyper focusing until my vision is finished. When my artwork has sold, I feel like a piece of me has also gone with it, yet there is no emotional attachment as all my passion lies within the creative process.

Sharing the love

I take immense pride in sharing my work with others whether it is through exhibitions, commissions or direct selling. I believe in the power of art to heal, whilst processing our emotions to understand ourselves. Through my art, I have learnt so much about myself and gained a wonderful sense of purpose and accomplishment.

I am a self-taught artist based in London, drawing inspiration from the natural world and the human form. My work is a fusion of art and sustainability, as I primarily use recyclable materials to create pieces that are not only beautiful but also mindful of our environmental impact.
